In partnership with UJA-Federation of New York, Brightpoint Health, will offer free pop-up COVID-19 testing for a limited time at locations in Brooklyn and the Bronx, beginning this Friday, May 8.

COVID-19 testing will be available at The Alpha School, located at 2400 Linden Boulevard in Brooklyn, on May 8, 11, 12, 13, and 14. Testing will be offered at Goble Playground, located on Goble Place between Inwood Avenue and Macomb’s Road in the Bronx, on May 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22. At both locations, testing is by appointment only, and available from 10am to 3pm.

Anyone with severe shortness of breath, a persistent cough, or a temperature above 100.5 degrees that is not responsive to medications for fever should call 718-208-2802 to inquire about a test. Testing is also available for any health care workers, first responders, or essential workers as defined by the Governor’s Executive Order: https://esd.ny.gov/guidance-executive-order-2026

“We know how important testing is – both to flatten the curve of those infected, and so that our state can begin to reopen,” said Eric S. Goldstein, CEO, UJA-Federation of New York. “We’re proud to work with Brightpoint Health in supplementing the testing available in our community, doing all we can to support New Yorkers.”

“We are pleased to bring pop-up COVID-19 testing to Brooklyn and the Bronx,” said Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, Chief Executive Officer of Hudson River Health Care. “Pop-up testing is a critical part of our community response against COVID-19, and we are grateful to UJA-Federation for their support in helping us expand testing. We will continue expanding our response to the COVID-19 pandemic until we prevail, for the sake of our patients and our communities.”

Brightpoint Health is pleased to provide testing as a pathway to long term care for new patients. Our health centers remain open for information and referral on COVID-19. Brightpoint is also offering telemedicine, with extended hours available. Appointments can be made by calling 1-855-681-8700, texting “telemedNYC” to 21000, or by visiting www.brightpointhealth.org. Telemedicine visits can be through video chat or a regular phone call. New patients are welcome. Current patients can schedule telemedicine visits with their regular doctor.

Since March, UJA has allocated more than $44 million to help respond to the devastating impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Aid has supported New Yorkers facing food insecurity, UJA partner organizations providing essential health and human services to New Yorkers, Jewish Community Centers, low-income students, single parents, ensuring dignified burials, and joining the $75 million NYC Covid-19 Response & Impact Fund with other leading philanthropic organizations.
