This building, located at 212 Hegeman Ave, in Brownsville, is being constructed through the Supportive Housing Loan Program of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program of New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR). Supportive housing is permanent, affordable housing with on-site support services to serve the needs of the most vulnerable New Yorkers, including the formerly homeless and disabled. Sixty percent of units in the building are supportive housing units set aside for low income or formerly homeless individuals or families with special needs, who are referred by city agencies. 29% of units in the building are made available to the public through lottery.
