Genealogy 101 At The New Lots Library On Tuesday, September 19th

Posted By Pia Fergus

“Genealogy 101 is being offered for beginner to intermediate family history/lineage researchers (ADULTS only). This course is designed to educate (by lecture and hands on) interested participants on the 5Ws and an H in the land of genealogy: WHY we search, WHO we’re searching for, WHAT documents for proof, WHERE to look, WHEN we can access records or seek out more family stories and HOW to do this all by using the library and its resources (books, internet, etc.). The mission of this group is to develop an awareness of the larger family by reclaiming kin through oral stories and documentation so that in hopes, we can pass it on in our families or the community at large.

Space only for 12 (and we ask that you commit to all 8 sessions). Please register through the link provided!

No children, food or drink, please.

Please bring a writing tool, thumb drive (USB preferred), or a folder to keep copies of your findings!

Date/times: Every Tues from Sept. 12, 2017 – Oct 31st at 6:30pm-7:45pm!

This program will take place in the computer lab.”
