The FBI recently raided the homes of two high-ranking aides to NYC Mayor Eric Adams: Sheena Wright, the city’s first deputy mayor, and Philip Banks III, the deputy mayor for public safety. The raids, which took place in Manhattan and Queens, respectively, involved searches of their residences and the seizure of electronic devices. These actions are part of an ongoing federal investigation, though the specific details linking these raids to previous probes involving the Adams administration remain unclear.

This is not the first time Adams’ administration has faced scrutiny from federal authorities. Earlier, the FBI also investigated potential illegal foreign donations to Adams’ 2021 campaign, and his own electronic devices were seized and later returned. However, the current raids do not seem directly tied to that earlier investigation.

Despite these developments, Mayor Adams has maintained his innocence, asserting that his administration has always complied with the law.
