The People First Democratic Club of East New York has decided to endorse Assembly Member Michael Blake for Public Advocate in the Special Election being held Tuesday February 26. The club decided to endorse Blake after hosting a forum to hear from the candidates on their vision for the office earlier this month.
In their endorsement Founder and President Nikki Lucas said, “The People First Democratic Club of East New York, Brooklyn is pleased to endorse Michael Blake for Public Advocate. He understands and relates to all people. His commitment comes with a vision for redevelopment and expansion towards advocacy for the people of New York City. Mike Blake is NYC’s future!”
“It’s an honor to be endorsed by Nikki Lucas and the People First Democratic Club of East New York. Our campaign is one of the people and for the people, and as Public Advocate, I will always put the people first. I will fight for public and affordable housing, transportation equity, and economic development so that New Yorkers across our city, from the South Bronx to East New York, have the opportunity to thrive,” said Assembly Member Michael Blake.
The People First Democratic Club of East New York joins a growing list of prominent Brooklyn-based endorsers of Blake’s campaign that includes Council Member Justin Brannan, the Independent Neighborhood Democrats, and the Bay Ridge Democrats. This endorsement, which is among the more than two dozen new endorsements of Blake announced this week alone and more than 50 in total, reinforces the strength of Blake’s ground game and momentum heading into this weekend of Get Out The Vote.
