East New York Gets Its Own Online TV Show: ‘VOICES of East New York With Nikki Lucas’ Launching Sunday March 29

Posted By NYC Newswire

Today JIG Media announced they will be producing an online TV show for East New York and the surrounding neighborhoods, with Nikki Lucas as the host. The show is titled ‘The VOICE of East New York With Nikki Lucas’.

“We had plans to launch an online TV show covering East New York for quite some time”, stated Vernon Jones Sr., CEO of JIG Media, which owns EastNewYork.com. “With everyone staying at home because of the coronavirus pandemic this seemed like the opportune time to provide an additional information source to engage East New Yorkers. We are excited to have Nikki Lucas on board as the show’s host. Nikki works closely with us as the host of our New York for Seniors Health and Wellness Fairs and she has a strong connection to residents and key stakeholders in the area.”

The show will include one on one interviews with community leaders and residents of East New York and surrounding neighborhoods. Topics will include issues that are important to residents of East New York, Brownsville and Canarsie.

Nikki Lucas stated, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the creation of a show that is dedicated to East New York, particularly during this time when there’s so much information that needs to be shared with the community. We will be discussing development, job opportunities, housing, health, entrepreneurship and other relevant topics that are important to the growth of our community.”

The first segment will launch Sunday March 29, 2020 with a one on one interview with New York State Senator Julia Salazar, who represents the 18th Senate District, which covers sections of East New York, Bushwick, Cypress Hills, Greenpoint and Williamsburg, as well as parts of Bedford-Stuyvesant and Brownsville.

Fusion East Caribbean Soul Restaurant, located in the Spring Creek section of East New York, is a sponsor of the show, providing platters for the guests and the restaurant acts as the studio, with a nice backdrop.

I’ve lived in ENY for over 30+ years and I’m exciting that we are doing this and much more to help move this community forward. I’ve always wish we could be a dominant community without having to wait the gentrification pandemic. We can do so , we are better together. With an every changing canvas, one of the 1st steps we can make is a name change, rebirth. Eastern Heights
