In a time where a rising separation among people exists. The 4th Ocean Hill Folk Festival transcends differences through music, dance, and visual art. This festival seeks to create an atmosphere where musicians of various ethnic backgrounds can reach out to New Yorkers, by celebrating their differences. The Ocean Hill Folk Festival goal is to build a cultural appreciation through the music. Produced by Beareather Reddy’s Big Eyed Enterprises, this event to be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 1 to 5:30 pm, at the renovated Marion Hopkinson Playground between Thomas Boyland St. and Rockaway Ave. in Brooklyn.
This year, festival-goers will have the opportunity to experience the superb performances by the Redhawk Native American Arts Council, the captivating vocals and rhythms of The Women of the Calabash and the pulsating, encompassing polyrhythms of the African Caribbean Jazz group Dr. Mambo and the Experience Ensemble.
