Brooklyn Serving Up Honey Glazed Meats With First HoneyBaked Franchise in NYC

Posted By Pia Fergus

HoneyBaked,  the meat/cafe franchise with multiple locations throughout the country, serving fresh honey glazed turkey, hams, and more, has launched two franchises in Brooklyn. One in the heart of Bedford Stuyvesant and the other on Flatbush Ave, downtown Brooklyn, across from LIU.

Honeybaked might be new to New York, but it is a brand that has been around since 1957, starting in Detroit. With its sweet, crunchy glaze enhancing the flavor of the bone-in smoked ham, the patented spiral-slicing process made HoneyBaked Ham the easy-to-serve centerpiece, becoming an instant staple at holiday dinners, Easter celebrations and meaningful meals shared and savored by family and friends.

Longtime Brooklyn resident Robles Gibbs and his business partner Clay Berry, who were familiar with the brand, felt Honeybaked would be a great option for New Yorkers. “We know New Yorkers care about eating healthy, while still eating delicious foods, so it made sense for us to introduce Honeybaked to the New York market”, stated Berry. “Our meats are real, and they’re delicious.”

“We are known for making the best glazed ham in the country, but our honeyglazed turkey and our roast beef are delicious as well. We sell a lot more than ham, in fact the company is moving to the name “Honeybaked” to address that point. We also have vegetarian options that are delicious as well. Once you try our turkey, roast beef or ham, I guarantee you will return.”, stated Clay Berry, one of the owners.

Honeybaked offers specials that are available all day for students and city workers. Specials are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches with sides of salad or soup, and for dinner you can get whole cooked meats to take home, with family sized size dishes, and a selection of desserts.

Berry added, “we support community events, like community board meetings, church functions, and we catered events for Congressman Hakeem Jeffries and other elected officials. Every organization that we work with continues to order our catering services, because of the taste of the foods and the service that we provide.”

Berry also informed us that they have fundraising options that work well for schools, non profit organizations and community based organizations. Their fundraising options guarantee to put cash back into the community based organizations.

According to Stan Parham, Director of Brooklyn Buzz, Honeybaked’s turkey sandwich with a side soup or salad, “is a great healthy option”. You get fresh honey glazed turkey, with fresh lettuce and tomatoes, with buns that are baked fresh and delivered daily. This is popular combination for lunch or late afternoon.

Catering is also available. You can order full turkeys, ham or roast beef, already sliced and ready to serve. Honeybaked can also provide full, half or quarter sandwiches to serve anywhere from 10 to 500 people. The provide large side dishes and desserts as well.
