Wimbledon is returning to New York in style this summer and it’s bringing a major star along for the ride. On Friday, July 11, British pop sensation Rita Ora will headline a free, one-night-only concert at Brooklyn Bridge Park to kick off The Hill in New York, a weekend-long celebration of Wimbledon on the waterfront.
Presented by American Express, the concert will launch the fourth edition of this U.S.-based Wimbledon viewing party and set the tone for a weekend full of tennis, British charm, and summer energy.
A Crowd of 5,000, a Setlist of Hits
Ora, known for smash singles like “Praising You,” “Your Song,” and “I Will Never Let You Down,” will perform in front of 5,000 lucky fans. The show will feature tracks from her latest album, You & I, blending her signature dance-pop sound with the electric energy of a New York summer night.
“I am thrilled to bring that one-of-a-kind energy of The Championships to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge Park,” Ora said in a statement. “Get ready for some HEAT!”
Wimbledon on the Waterfront
The Hill in New York is inspired by Wimbledon’s iconic Henman Hill and gives tennis lovers a chance to experience finals weekend as if they were courtside in London. Large screens will broadcast the ladies’ final on July 12 and the gentlemen’s final on July 13, with gates opening at 7 a.m. and matches starting at 8 a.m.
After the action winds down, fans can stay for sunset screenings of historic Wimbledon matches — think Federer vs. Nadal, Serena’s domination, and more.
British Garden Party Vibes
The park will be decked out like a proper Wimbledon garden party, complete with themed eats, classic drinks, and plenty of photo-ready décor. Expect strawberries and cream, Pimm’s cups, and other Wimbledon-inspired treats to complete the experience.
While all events are free, space is limited. Interested guests must enter an online ballot by 11:59 p.m. on July 1. Winners will be notified on July 8, and a limited number of walk-up spots will be available each day. VisitThe Hill in New York for more details and to enter the ticket ballot.
