Nikki Lucas Ignites East New York with Free Concert & Wellness Series!

East New York locals can look forward to four vibrant days of music, cultural pride, and wellness during the third Annual East New York Concert & Wellness Series later this month. The event, initiated by New York State Assemblywoman Nikki Lucas, is organized in collaboration with Councilman Chris Banks and renowned DJ Watkins & Friends. Festivities are scheduled for Thursday, September 18 to Sunday, September 21, 2025, outdoors on Van Siclen Avenue between Vandalia Avenue and Schroeders Avenue.

Per the recent press release, the series is designed to feature East New York’s artistic talent and community while providing helpful resources to residents.

Assemblywoman Lucas commented, “East New York is a place brimming with creativity, energy, and culture. The Concert & Wellness Series demonstrates the extraordinary things we accomplish together. This celebration is about more than the music; it’s about promoting unity and wellness, creating uplifting experiences for all generations within the 60th Assembly District.”

Councilman Chris Banks reaffirmed the event’s importance. “By keeping this tradition alive, we strengthen East New York’s sense of togetherness and showcase our community spirit.”

Four Days of Music & Entertainment

A full schedule promises something for every music lover:

Thursday, September 18 (5 PM – 9 PM)Caribbean & Latin Night

  • Special appearances from Saucy Wow Belfon, Giro Lopez, Bascom X, Denise Belfon, Luci Martin, and Norma Jean Wright, original lead singers from Chic.

Friday, September 19 (5 PM – 9 PM)House Music Night

  • Dance with DJs Kervyn Mark, T-Groove, and DJ Groove featuring house classics.

Saturday, September 20 (1 PM – 9 PM) – Hip-Hop, R&B & Reggae Night

  • Performances include Evelyn Champagne King, Brand Nubian, Kenny Bobien, Strafe, Kool Rock Ski (Fat Boys), Grand Master Dee (Whodini), among others, and DJs Just-Nice, Flowdak, Skip, SkiZ, and Mel E Mel.

Sunday, September 21 (1 PM – 6 PM)Gospel & Jazz Night

  • Wrapping up with Hezekiah Walker, James Hall, Rob & King Skip, Nakisha Smith, and Friends & Strangers Band.

Wellness Initiatives and Community Support

Attendees can also access health and support services from groups like NYPD, FDNY, Food Bazaar, Fusion East Caribbean Soul Restaurant, and New Wave Dance. Blahzay Blahzay and Bobby Konders will host the series.
