Kings County Judicial Race: Chidi A. Eze Enters the Fray

Posted By Todd Betzold

Civil rights attorney Chidi A. Eze has announced he is running for Kings County Civil Court Judge in the 4th Municipal District, representing areas such as Brownsville, East New York, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Canarsie, Crown Heights, and East Flatbush. Early voting opens October 25 and lasts through November 2, with the election set for November 4, 2025.

From Nigeria to Brooklyn: The Path of an Advocate

Eze, who was born in Nigeria and later made Brooklyn his home, has dedicated over twenty years to advocating for New Yorkers facing foreclosure, job discrimination, and civil rights violations. From his Downtown Brooklyn law firm, he has developed a strong track record of helping working families, homeowners, and employees fight systemic injustice.

“My campaign for Kings County Civil Court Judge is rooted in my dedication to justice, fairness, and serving Brooklyn’s residents,” Eze stated in his campaign launch statement. “Since opening my Brooklyn law office over 20 years ago, I have focused on protecting homeowners from wrongful foreclosures, representing workers against discrimination, and defending civil rights.”

Defending Rights and Preventing Foreclosure Abuse

During his career, Eze has taken part in more than 100 federal cases on civil rights and employment discrimination, and contributed to the Foreclosure Abuse Prevention Act, a law that has helped save thousands of New York families’ homes.

“I understand what it means to come to Brooklyn with nothing except a vision and a passion to help others,” he said. “I’ve always sought to support those unable to stand up for themselves.”

Upholding Compassion and Principle

If elected, Eze says he will apply the same principles of fairness and accessibility to the courtroom that have guided his entire legal career.

Eze pledged, as judge, to “make sure our courts are open for every Brooklyn resident, not just those with resources.”
