Posted By Todd Betzold

Brooklyn’s Linden Houses buzzed with excitement on Saturday, August 2, 2025, as locals and friends gathered for a joyful day of music, laughter, and camaraderie.

With support from C+C Apartment Management, the Linden Houses Resident Association hosted their annual Family Day in the heart of East New York. Seeking to bolster neighborhood bonds and soak up the summer weather, the event attracted hundreds of attendees.

From early morning through evening, Linden Houses’ shared spaces were alive with activity. Children took on the challenge of a towering rock-climbing wall or jumped with glee in an inflatable bouncy house. Attendees sampled tasty dishes from nearby vendors, caught up with familiar faces, and danced to lively tunes.

The Mayor’s NeighborhoodStat initiative also joined the gathering, providing young visitors with fun activities and families with helpful resources. The program aimed to boost both community engagement and safety, offering youngsters a way to learn and enjoy simultaneously.

Council Member Chris Banks Offers His Support

During the festivities, City Council Member Chris Banks stopped by to deliver a $3,500 check from his discretionary fund to the Linden Houses Resident Association. The funding is intended to keep community events like Family Day sustainable, supporting ongoing projects and initiatives.

Banks commended the Resident Association for their hard work, noting that “these kinds of events strengthen, secure, and unite communities.”

For many residents, Family Day is cherished as more than just a yearly event. It’s an opportunity for neighbors to connect, kids to play safely, and for everyone to express their East New York community spirit.

Organizers shared that they are already brainstorming enhancements for next year’s event, aiming to bring new activities and more chances for socializing.

As the evening settled over East New York, the echoes of music and laughter lingered. The unity and togetherness fostered during Linden Houses Family Day continued to resonate throughout the community.
