Councilman Rafael Espinal is teaming up with the Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs to educate residents of East New York, Brownsville and Bushwick on their legal rights when consulting with government agencies. There is great diversity in these neighborhoods. This is an opportunity for residents to prepare for the changes that are sure to come with Trump’s presidency.
At this meeting, attendees will learn how to powerfully advocate for themselves, ask the right questions and get help from the Citizens Commission on Human Rights, the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, Department of Education, the NYC Police Department and the Department of Community Affairs. The information will focus on issues related to immigration, the rights of undocumented immigrants and resources and protections available to them from city agencies.
